71 arrested for gambling in Johnston
From staff reports

Authorities have arrested 71 people for gambling in a raid on a Johnston County building that housed a casino-like operation.

Officials from the N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement Division described the operation at 156 Bear Road as a "small Atlantic City of Las Vegas-style casino."

Agents seized a craps table, a roulette wheel, a blackjack table and more than a dozen Texas Hold 'Em tables. They also seized more than $70,000.

The gambling hall also housed a full-service kitchen and staff to serve patrons, authorities said.

Marvin Ray Johnson, who authorities say owns the property, was present during the raid Saturday night.
