75 people charged in gambling raid

Several dozen people were arrested in a gambling raid near Benson in Johnston County, Johnston County Sheriff's Office officials said Saturday night.
N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement executed a search warrant with help by the sheriff's office Saturday after learning about a gambling operation in a building on Bear Road, near N.C. 242 just south of Benson, said Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell.
He said ALE agents seized poker tables, roulette wheels and thousands of dollars in cash.
Seventy-five people were charged with various offenses in the raid, Bizzell said.
